I was thinking about venturing out on a blog tour. I want to go to public places–LGBT Community Centers and on college campuses– also so that I can meet the readers that I wrote BrookLyn’s Journey for. I am going to miss the Rainbow Book Fair in New York this year, but promise to be there next March. It’s this weekend. I am going to join the OutWrite LGBT Book Fair in D.C. in August. It’s August 3-4, 2012.
This process has been so exciting. I started writing this book a few years ago, but work got in the way. Then a fire was lit when I was inspired by a friend that published a book. I then realized that I had stories to tell that might help teens and young adults when so many suicides started occurring. I have a responsibility to be a light in the lives of those that are where I have been. There is bullying that some gay and lesbians teens face both at home and school, and I wanted to be one of the voices screaming that “It will get better.” I know that firsthand and it does… DON’T GIVE UP… EVER!!!!
